Importance of fitness age vs biological age

Most people have an affinity for sports when they are young and in school.  Games are fun to play, teaming up, competing, or simply running for the fun of it.  Some young people are even more ambitious; they participate in city or provincial competitions and take home medals.  That is their life until the end of middle school. With high school or vocational training, life becomes different!

Forgotten are careless times playing football, handball, or large and more competitive countrywide sports.  Their focus changes to education, studying, and a career.  They become less active, sitting reading books, on their computers and tablets.  Even fewer actives sitting riding the bus or the train.  Sitting in a coffee shop and so on and so on!

There is no time to go to a sports club, join a team, or just put on sneakers for a quick run.  That’s the changing point in lives. People think the sports they have done belonged in the past and now they are grown. However, the less active they become and it will obvious as they age, gained weight, feel stressed; sometimes feel their first pain in their chest.

Seeing a doctor at this stage might be a good wake-up call and push to rethink their current lifestyle.  Time to start reactivating their bodies through physical activities.  This step is the most difficult one since the body is not prepared for the sports or work out activities; they have done in their early years of childhood.  Some people discover it is time for a personal trainer to bring them back to wellbeing or find out there is a sports club across the street.

No matter what way they go about it, it is worthwhile in any case and never too late to start a new sport or being new activities.  As little as 30 minutes a day can do a lot to improve your health, lower your stress levels and you will feel great!

Now it is time to find out about your fitness age! In most cases, it is different from your biological age. It can be higher, and should that be the case, it is an alarm for you to start doing something to change it. If however, it is lower, it shows that you are on the right track.
