Will what you want – with your personal trainer

One thing that all our clients have in common is to have a specific fitness and/or health target. In the beginning everybody has the will to reach that target. We know how important it is to keep that will like a flame burning inside our clients. Be it for your weight loss target or when you want to participate in a competition, for all of those you need a strong will. Do you think that is a matter of course? I got to tell you, as soon as you are on your journey you will always have challenges that you master easier with the help of your personal trainer. Why is that? Your personal trainer knows you and your target. Let’s say you would like to take part in a competition for a run. Here you need to combine the right skills with a strong will if you have never done a race. Or let’s say you have gained extra pounds during the last couple of months and you want to shred them, then you need to have the will to change parts of your life style to reach your target.  Your trainer will help with expertise for the sport you want to train, for the right diet, for the right exercise etc., and keeps you going even when it becomes most challenging. ‘…it all began with a bet between me and my best friend living in the US. We were on a lunchtime walk and he challenged: “Tim, I think you put on some extra pounds since last time I saw you. I bet you won’t be able to finish a sprint triathlon together with me”. He is 5 years older than me, so I took the bet. We picked a race together and I started to train for it. Or so I thought. Suddenly, I just noticed I had no idea how to train for a triathlon, even if it is a sprint only. Even worse, the pandemic came in between. Then the race was canceled but we both agreed that we will continue to work towards a potential race. But how to do that? I got a crazy idea: I will look for an online trainer and see if that could work. So I found Fitness Comes To You and booked my personal trainer. The good thing was I could take my trainer everywhere, be it in the park for the run or in my home for resistance training. He was correcting my running technique based on breathing and rhythm, I sent videos over and got instructions back. He was there on the tablet sitting on a bench when we trained the transition between cycling and running. Then the biggest deal was the swimming. I trained in a lake with my wife making the videos. The weirdest thing was the transition training coming out of the water and jumping on the bike. Oh man, if you have never done a triathlon, you would not know how challenging that can be. More than once I was about to quit. But he kept my will alive, worked on my strength and never stopped to motivate me. No wonder that I even shred the extra pounds. When the first race took place again I started with my friend, and you know what, I crossed the finish line before him. I still continue with my personal trainer, and I don’t want to miss any session that develops my skills and prepares me for my next race!’
